This italian ash veneer plywood side table and 2 oak coffee tables are handcrafted, combining the natural beauty of solid wood with custom artistic details. Each table is a one-of-a-kind piece, featuring a carved design in the center, later filled with epoxy resin for a durable and modern finish. Designed to fit seamlessly into a variety of interior styles, these tables add a distinctive touch to any space.
Round Table with Tree of Life
This round table was my first custom commission. The clients, deeply connected to their families, wanted a design piece that symbolised this bond. For this reason, I engraved a Tree of Life at the center of the tabletop using black epoxy resin. The top is made of italian ash veneer plywood, while the legs are of black aluminium. Designed as an entryway table for holding small items like keys, it perfectly fits the role of a decorative yet functional piece.
This project on commission inspired me to create the following 2 coffee tables.
Coffee Table with Stylized Landscape
The first table features a stylized landscape in the center, with lines inspired by Van Gogh’s distinctive drawing style, particularly in its natural themes. The design is carved directly into the oak and filled with black epoxy resin, creating a strong contrast between the natural wood grain and the smooth resin surface. This table is ideal for those who appreciate a clean yet refined design, perfect for minimalist or contemporary interiors.
Coffee Table with “Great Wave” Japanese Design
The second table draws inspiration from my trip to Japan, where traditional Japanese art, particularly during a visit to the Kanagawa region, left a lasting impression. The table’s center features the iconic “Great Wave off Kanagawa” by Hokusai, carefully carved into the oak and filled with epoxy resin in various colors, each emphasizing different elements of the artwork. This process brings out the depth and detail of the design. It’s the ideal choice for those seeking a handcrafted piece that reflects artistic and cultural influences and meticulous attention to detail.
